MANILA, Philippines – Maine Mendoza turns 21 today. And since she’s a busy bee lately, an advance birthday celebration was prepared for her.
The “Kalyeserye” star was surprised by her family, friends and fans with a Coachella-inspired birthday celebration which happened at an events place in Quezon City on Monday.
One of her special guests is the elderly man who she helped to get a ticket for the “Tamang Panahon” event last October.

Maine expressed on Instagram her gratitude to the people who worked together to prepare the surprise birthday celebration.
She even revealed how she was informed about the event, and how she almost didn’t attend.
“’May awarding kang pupuntahan sa Monday, Coachella yung theme.’ Ate Pat told me last Saturday, leaving me wondering about the thought of the Coachella-themed ‘awarding,’” she recalled.
Maine said she’s happy to celebrate her birthday with “the people behind my accomplishments; my family, my friends and some of my lovely supporters.”
“Kakasimula palang ng Marso, buo na agad buwan ko– salamat sainyo! I love you all!” she added.
Welcoming the month of March not with a fizzle but with a bang! “May awarding kang pupuntahan sa Monday, Coachella yung theme.” Ate Pat told me last Saturday, leaving me wondering about the thought of the Coachella-themed “awarding”. So Monday afternoon after Bulaga I went straightly to the studio to get myself fixed for the said event. (I even took a nap for an hour for I was really tired from all the work I did last week!) I was thinking “Kailangan ko pa bang pumunta don? Kailangan ko ng tulog.” Wala na akong nagawa. Upon arriving at Centris Elements that night, Ate Therese and Ate Pat were forcing me to enter first. The conversation went..”Madaming tao, mauna ka na.” “Bakit ako?!” “Ikaw na yung aawardan!” I entered the venue slowly and then baaam! People started shouting when I entered. I was blinded for a minute from all the cameras flashing around me. A cloud of confusion popped out, “Ano bang meron dito?! Bakit nagkagulo?!” until I saw Gwen–Maine lovers admin– standing right in front of me; and that is when I realized that I wasn’t attending an awarding ceremony. Uhm wait totoo ba ‘to? It was a surprise birthday party for me– from the people who love me. There were A LOT of people in the venue and they were all greeting me a happy birthday as I pass by. I was dumbfounded, I was screaming “Ano to!” the whole time. Nakakaloka! My birthday came a little early and I am just so glad that I got to spend it with the people behind my accomplishments; my family, my friends and some of my lovely supporters. Thank you very much “Solid Maine United” for making #Nicomainechella21 happen! You guys don’t know how happy you all made me! I had NO IDEA about this AT ALL, and with that I commend each and everyone of you for keeping mum about it for two months! I didn’t think that you’d spend so much time and effort preparing for this. Bonggang party? Para sakin? Bakit? Bakit ako? I am just so grateful for being so blessed to have people like you in my life. Thanks for making my birthday (extra) special! To everyone who came and enjoyed the night with me, maraming salamat! Kakasimula palang ng Marso, buo na agad buwan ko– salamat sainyo! I love you all!
