MANILA, Philippines — Several members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity of the University of the Philippines Diliman on Monday ran naked around the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy on Monday.
The Oblation Run, the traditional annual run of the fraternity which is also referred to as the "ritual dance of the brave," seeks to dramatize pressing issues of the year.
This year, the run bears the theme "Huwad na Daan o Hubad na Daan" in protest of President Benigno Aquino III's "Tuwid na Daan" or straight path.
The fraternity challenged the presidential and vice presidential aspirants to offer themselves to serve the public.
"Tulad ng sinisimbolo ng Oblasyon, hinahamon ng aming Kapatiran ang mga nangangarap maging pangulo at pangalawang pangulo ng bansa na ihubad ang kanilang mga pansariling interes at ialay ang buo nilang pagkatao sa paglilingkod sa bayan," APO said in a statement.
